How We Are Different?
We grew up in this business as educators. Education resonates with so many of our clients because of their own careers. Unfortunately, true financial education for the public sector has largely been ignored over the years because Ohio’s public pension systems are not well understood.
New clients often express a frustration with “how IT all fits together.” That may not sound overly technical, but it best describes what we see on a day to day basis. “IT” can include an STRS Ohio or OPERS public pension, a spouse’s Social Security, health care at retirement, 403(b) or tax-sheltered annuity plans, the ideal time to retire, the PLOP plan, investment decisions, and many other things. The list can be quite exhausting and it is not surprising that people throw up their hands and put off decision-making as long as possible. There are many moving pieces to retirement income planning. Our job is to make sure our clients see these retirement income pieces differently when they walk out our door.
We have a fiduciary responsibility to our clients. That means we put our clients interests above our own. As the owners of Prospera Financial Group, we believe this is the only way to build lasting relationships with people that need help understanding how to make the best retirement planning decisions.
